After launching an excavating business in 2005, Dervin Witmer saw a bigger need—reliable, professional septic service. He started Pump That Septic with a commitment to doing things differently: clean trucks, friendly service, and a job done right.
What began as a small family operation has grown into a trusted team of eight. We're focused on solving septic problems so you can get back to normal life!
Based in Cassopolis Michigan, right next to the Ross Beatty High School, we proudly serve northwest Indiana and southwest Michigan.
You need your septic problem resolved as fast as possible without making a ton of phone calls. That’s why as a full-service septic company we’re able to perform maintenance, repairs, and installations for our customers.
From pumping to installing advanced treatment systems, homeowners and businesses only need to make one call and we’ll take care of the rest.

As the owner of the company, Dervin loves meeting clients, tackling emergency issues, and helping the team grow. He’s also passionate about networking with other business owners and elevating the septic industry. But what he values most is spending quality time with his family, whether at sporting events or on vacation. If he ever switched careers, Dervin would explore the world of heavy equipment sales or the equipment rental business.

The longest-serving employee at Pump That Septic, Jimmy’s favorite part of his job is simply getting customers' toilets flushing again. When he's not working, he most enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, or doing both at once. Fun fact: he won the National 4-H Hunting Skills Competition Championship when he was a teenager.

Brandon joined our team in 2023, and from day one, he’s been passionate about meeting and engaging with customers! When he's not working, you can find him modifying cars, competing in local demolition derbies, and fighting fires with the Edwardsburg Fire Department. If Brandon were an animal, he’d definitely be a bear—strong, focused, and always ready for action!

As a CDL driver, Ryans favorite part of his job is hauling heavy equipment. He enjoys spending his spare time with his kids and working on a classic car he is restoring. If Ryan was in a band, he would be the drummer.

Since spring 2024, Heather has been the friendly voice behind the phone at Pump that Septic. After hours, Heather enjoys making creative projects with her Cricut and 3D printer. But above all, she loves time spent with her family!

Lucian has been a CDL driver since 2017 and became the head of marketing in 2023. He loves connecting with people and creating educational content that makes a real impact. Outside of work, he enjoys going to concerts, playing the drums, and traveling the world. If Lucian were a car, he'd be an Audi RS6 Avant—because, like station wagons, he's all about things that are rare yet practical.
